Bug fixes: OPUS Development Update
Almost a month after the release of the OPUS beta for web and mobile, which was made public in order to gather as much feedback as possible, we have been hard at work fixing all the issues raised by our community, as well as problems we have encountered in our internal tests.
Web
We have now resolved 80 issues on the web beta. Among the biggest issues we have been working on that are now fully functional are:
- Setting up, modifying, and saving user profiles.
- Paying for subscriptions.
- Managing artist profiles.
There are, of course, still some parts of the player that need to be worked on, but it is shaping up very well.
iOS
On the iOS app, 32 issues have been resolved since the release. Most of the issues here are either with the UI/UX and various bugs. We have fixed virtually every screen by eliminating bugs and modifying the look of the app.
Android
28 issues have been fixed on the Android app following the beta release a few weeks ago. Again, here the most pressing issues were with the UI/UX and fixing minor bugs. Most of those have now been taken care of. We have been working to prevent crashes that some users reported, and also to add a shuffle function to the player.
Backend
On the backend, we are very close to fixing one of the biggest problems with the web platform, namely playing tracks which many users have reported having difficulties with. This should work within the next few days.
Continued development
Overall, good progress has been made. We are planning an update for the iOS and Android apps for next Friday (this will be public depending on when the App Store and Play Store accept the updates) with all the fixes. This way, everyone will be able to once more test all the features and see if our solutions have worked, and also to let us know of any more problems with the players.
All the feedback so far has been incredibly helpful in improving the OPUS betas, and we would appreciate a continued stream of communication to let us know of any and all problems. The web player is available here, the iOS player here, and the Android player here. You can tell us about any problems on any of the following:
