Interview with one of our artists — Alessandro Porcella
We would like to introduce an interview with Alessandro Porcella, one of our artists and a music producer at PA74 Music, an Italian publishing company.
Our cooperation with Alessandro started at the beginning of March, resulting in the appearance of dozens of artists’ accounts in the timeframe of just a few days — we’re looking forward to further cooperation.
OPUS : Hi Alessandro, by interviewing our artists we would like to get to know their stories. How did your journey in the music industry start?
Alessandro Porcella : Hello there, I started my career in the music business as a composer, keyboards player and session man for different artists, and later I have created my business on music publishing and music production.
O : As you know, Opus is based on blockchain technology, which you seem to be fairly into. How started your connection to the decentralized music industry?
A : I am inquisitive and open to new opportunities for promotions and innovative for our catalogue and therefore for our artists. I’m really curious about new opportunities in blockchain technology.
O : What are the biggest advantages that the decentralized database can give their users so that you decided to join Opus?
A : No Intermediaries. It’s a new experience for me, we’ll see if we can have good results.
O : What are the challenges the music industry is facing right now and how new technologies, including blockchain, can help them?
A : Transparency and trusted auditability
O : What is the direction music based on blockchain is in your opinion heading?
A : As with any solution, blockchain will not be a perfect answer to all the problems that the music industry is facing. But at the very least, it will level the playing field to some degree. And artists, songwriters, performers and musicians — the real owners of the industry — will be the main benefactors, for they will finally be able to own their creations and get their due for their efforts.
O : What are your music plans for the future?
A : This is not a nice period for our business. The entertainment industry had a really rough ride from Corona Virus. But we can’t turn off the music. Personally, I want to return as soon as possible to my concerts, to organize our festival (Videofestival Live and Videofestival Live International) for the new generation of artists and continue to build our relationship with different operators of the music business. For the good of our artists and for all music users.
