Newsletters and sorting: OPUS Development Update

Following the release of the updated versions of the Android and Web platforms, we have continued improving and adding new features to the OPUS Player.

There has been a lot of development with the platforms. The changes we have worked on are:

  • Newsletters — one of the main new features are newsletters, something we have added to increase our marketing efforts. We will, starting very soon, be sending out regular newsletters to our users and artists with all the latest news, updates, and plans for the coming few weeks. This way, everyone can stay up to date with what is going on at OPUS.
  • Music progression bar — up to this point, this bar was generated randomly. We have now fixed this to make sure it fits the song.

  • Artist profile — we have changed the way artists can edit their profiles. The new look of this page is far easier to navigate and makes any potential changes much more intuitive.
  • Profile pictures — with long usernames, profile pictures now appear next to the username, a feature which previously did not work. Before this, usernames would simply cover up the pictures.
  • Sorting — users’ libraries can now be sorted according to the dates when tracks, albums, or artists were added.
You can now sort your library by Recently Added
  • Various cosmetic fixes and minor bugs — as always, we have continued working on the smaller errors that our community has pointed out including, for instance, the removal of ellipses to indicate more items in a list where there is only one item.
  • iOS social media login — users on iOS can now log in using their social media accounts, including Facebook, Twitter, and Google.

While all of these fixes are ready, we have not yet scheduled a release date for the updated version of the player which will allow you to test them. Hopefully, within the next few days everything should be up and running.

Exciting things in store!

There will be a new development update at the end of the next sprint.

In the meantime, please visit our bug reporting tool to help us locate anything else we need to fix. The more we find now, the better our final product will be!

Don’t forget to give us a like on Facebook, follow us on Twitter, and join us on Telegram to stay up to date with our development.
