Path to the mainnet: OPUS Development Update
As our development team works in sprints, this development update will take a closer look at the latest sprint lasting for the past two weeks. Our sprints are put in place to fix all the bugs and errors with the OPUS betas.
Overall, there were 14 tasks to do in the last two weeks, 12 of which have been fully closed, and 2 that still require some finishing touches. The two tasks that we are still working on are My Releases which we will talk about in a week, and reported errors with playing parts of some tracks on the web player.
Some of the issues we have fixed in this sprint are:
- the search function for songs, albums, and artists on the web player.
- confirmation that a track was added to a playlist.
- the progress bar.
- the title and order of a track being taken from its mp3 tag.
- freezing when songs are played.
- currently playing tracks being highlighted.
We are now edging closer to the release on the Ethereum main network as these fixes help provide a smoother experience for users.
Next sprint
The next sprint, which starts today and will run for three weeks, has another 14 issues. Some of the most pressing issues we will work on are:
- confirmation emails for artists.
- the Explore function.
- removing the image requirement for playlists.
- bugs with setting users’ dates of birth.
Since this sprint will take somewhat longer, there will be a special update in a week, and then a development update when this sprint is completed.
Reporting bugs
We have made a new way to report bugs in our beta and for users to easily track the progress of the fixes. Just follow this link to report any bugs, which will make the work much more efficient and quick.
Just a brief reminder, the web player is available here, the iOS player here, and the Android player here.
