Prospects for the future

Unfortunately, the future perspectives of the streaming services and the music industry, in general, do not look too satisfying. Looking at the current trends, we can only expect an even further oligomerisation of the market, where there is an increasingly small role of artists, compared to the industry moguls, who dominate the music world.

Such a status quo does not leave us with much of a choice, which is why we, as artists and music lovers, need to unite and fight for our and others’ rights. Otherwise, in the near future, we might simply wake up in the reality where there will be no prospects for fair and adequate earnings for all artists — not only those who top the charts with every album but also those with lesser publicity. For an industry that continues to grow and is open to new trends, it is natural that we have to guarantee less popular artists with a chance for further development and granting them ground to gain new listeners in their respective genres.

That is why, if you have not already, join Opus — a music streaming platform that values its artists and listeners the most. Start now by registering yourself here: https://artist.opus.audio (designated for artists) or here: https://player.opus.audio/login (designated for listeners).
