Over the past two weeks, we have made significant progress with the web app, namely completing the main panels for both the artists and the fans. Furthermore, we have been conducting extensive tests of the player for both web and mobile, which has resulted in improvements in the web app architecture and in the existing mobile screens, both on iOS and Android.

We’ve also done great work on our whitepaper. We have not only made lots of updates regarding the streaming model, but also tweaked some of the other aspects, based on our experiences with the blockchain.

On the backend, we have created a separate class for the wallet so that it can be used in all parts of the player, which will improve the general flow of information between different parts. Furthermore, we have created an API call to the Rinkeby Etherscan.

Next week, we are hoping to complete even more pages than we already have. In particular, we are planning to complete the settings pages on the web app, and the library and explore screens on the mobile apps. We will also finish the remaining APIs and work on the option to create new releases for artists.

Beam Up

Beam Up is the solo project of multi-instrumentalist Brian May, started in 1996 in Melbourne Australia. The music revolves around dub — the father and foundation of remixing, which was invented in Jamaica in the ‘70s.

Beam Up takes dubwise qualities of rhythm, space and bass, to shape music that can be described as a truly contemporary, outernational dub experience.

Beam Up’s released 2 albums and several 7” singles on labels such as BBE, ZamZam, 45Seven with a large catalogue of remixes for other artists. He’s played live in several bands since the ‘90s, sharing the stage with the Beastie Boys, Fugazi and Lee Scratch Perry and many more.

After a few years in Osaka Japan, Beam Up’ moved to Berlin in 2008 and has been based there since then. Beam Up plays live shows regularly around Europe and regularly releases new music.

Beam Up is really an artist to look out for on Opus! Find out more on Discogs, Soundcloud, Bandcamp, and his website.
